This Privacy Policy explains how GEOly: Image ALT Optimizer (the “App”) collects, uses, and protects information when it is installed on a Shopify store.

Information we process

To provide the App, we process the following information:

• Store and account information: your Shopify store domain and the merchant account information supplied through Shopify authentication.
• Catalog information: product details, image files and metadata, including existing image alt text, needed to identify and improve image descriptions.
• Service information: settings, generation jobs, optimization suggestions, and usage or credit records needed to operate the App.

How we use information

• To scan product images and generate, review, or apply alt text suggestions.
• To authenticate merchants, maintain App settings, and provide support.
• To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.

AI processing and sharing

When you request AI-generated suggestions, relevant product and image context may be sent to an AI service provider solely to generate the requested alt text. We do not sell personal information. We may also disclose information where required to comply with applicable law or a lawful request.

Data retention and security

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the App and meet legitimate operational or legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect the data we process. No internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure.

Shopify privacy requests

The App does not store Shopify customer or order records. It supports Shopify’s mandatory customer data request and customer redaction webhooks. When Shopify sends a shop redaction request, we delete the store’s persisted App data, including its sessions and catalog-related records, subject only to data we must retain by law.
